‘No way’, ‘Ain’t a chance’, ‘hope they aren’t even considering it’ – Erling Haaland’s fresh transfer update has Many Man City fans talking

Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays updates on the future of Borussia Dortmund superstar.

The 21-year-old striker has been widely tipped to seek a new challenge elsewhere ahead of next season, with City joining a whole host of top clubs with a shared interest in securing his signature.

Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.

Haaland is widely expected to leave the German club this summer, due to a clause in his contract which means Dortmund would be forced to entertain offers.

The exact size of the Norwegian’s exit clause is unclear, but is understood to be in the region of £63m (€75m) and £84m (€100m).

Haaland, who remains under contract with the Black and Yellow until 2024, has already netted 23 goals in 20 appearances for Dortmund this term despite injury concerns.

Such remarkable progress in Germany has invariably put the Norwegian goal machine on the radars of many European football clubs.

Speculation is rife that Haaland’s future will be resolved in the coming weeks, with the club looking to sign a replacement if he leaves.

A report from German publication Bild claims that Man City are focusing on finalising a move for Haaland and are keen to wrap up the deal this summer.

The newspaper also suggests that City will have no problems in offering a package that will satisfy Haaland’s demands, thought to be an eye-watering €35m-a-year (£29.4m).

That would make Haaland the club’s highest earner on wages around £565,000-a-week, with bonuses likely to further increase his wage far beyond that total.

In light to the report on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.
