‘Different gravy’, ‘too good for this league’ – Many Man City fans blown away by £60m Man City star’s ‘class’ display vs Brentford

A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to react to Joao Cancelo’s performance as Pep Guardiola’s side eased to a 2-0 victory over Brentford in the Premier League.

Brentford frustrated the Blues in the opening half-hour at the Etihad, defending resolutely, but Raheem Sterling earned a penalty just before half-time that Riyad Mahrez converted to make the evening more comfortable for the champions.

Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne scored the goals as Manchester City opened up a 12-point gap at the top of the Premier League and made it 40 points collected from the last available 42.

It was a dominant evening against Brentford with Mahrez and De Bruyne stealing the show, but one man who impress not only a lot of Man City fans but pundits was Joao Cancelo.

He helped win the ball back seconds before Sterling won the penalty for the opener. Was excellent throughout, but didn’t quite get the goal or assist he deserved.

Cancelo began to make more of an impact after half-time and nearly scored after a jinking solo run. Had other chances and arguably finished the night as City’s best attacker.

The Portuguese full-back was becoming a legitimate attacking threat down City’s left and side-footed yet another chance at Raya after 64 minutes.

The 27 year old star, who is enjoying a fantastic season at the Etihad Stadium, has received a lot of praises and is talked about all the time at the moment.

Fans are impressed by what they are seeing from the £60 million player (BBC Sport) and think he is just an incredible footballer to watch.
