Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has defended some of his players after a video emerged of them on a night out, adding that he is only upset “because they didn’t invite me”.
Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez were pictured outside Manchester bar Albert Schloss on Sunday night.
In a clip shared on TikTok, Grealish is seen on a night out with team-mates Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez, as well as members of City’s backroom staff.
Asked about the footage, which shows Grealish worse for wear, Guardiola was not in the least concerned, but instead joked that he will fine the players for not inviting him.
“So upset. They didn’t invite me. Next time they will invite me,” the City boss quipped to journalist.
“The video didn’t show what happened. Dinner together, sober. They were all perfect but they will be fined because they didn’t invite me.”
These Guardiola’s hilarious comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

Pep will protect you in front of the media but you’ll feel his wrath in the dressing room and in his office.
