Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is interested in Flamengo talent Matheus Franca.
The 17-year-old Franca has come through the youth ranks at Flamengo and currently plays for the club’s Under-20 side despite his young age.
According to Brazilian publication Bolavip, Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to fork out a ‘big offer’ to sign the 17-year-old and have spoken to people close to him.
As per the report, though, City face competition from Real Madrid, who have recently made big-money transfers on South American youngsters.
The attacking midfielder signed a new contract with Flamengo that ties him down to the Brazilian outfit until the summer of 2027. In addition, the said contract is said to possess a massive release clause that stands at €100 million.
Whether City are willing to formalise their interest in the teenage prospect and make an approach to sign him remains to be seen.
