Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League leaders have a £150m budget for the January transfer window.
Throughout the course of the season, Pep Guardiola has been quizzed over his striking options after they failed in their attempts to sign Harry Kane from Spurs.
The Cityzens have been heavily linked with signing a new centre-forward for several months and now that his squad are one forward light, a potential move in this month’s window is now a possibility.
The Citizens have already done some business this month, following confirmation of Ferran Torres’s €55m (£46.3m) move back to Spain with Barcelona.
According to Club_app, via the Manchester Evening News, the sale of Torres means City’s transfer budget for the winter window has increased from £84m to around £150m.
With City still in the market for a striker, many fans expected the club to sign a striker, but their prime targets Harry Kane and Erling Haaland are not expected to leave their clubs in January.
However, there is no panic at City about the lack of a striker, especially after recent results and performances have been good.
Man City are currently ten points clear at the top of the Premier League after a sensational first half of the season but Pep Guardiola is likely to use January to set summer plans in motion.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Chief, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
Great, but £0 will be spent https://t.co/egTlqkPoAX
