Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola has asked the club to make a ‘definitive effort’ to sign Erling Haaland.
Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.
The Borussia Dortmund talisman has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market since making his breakthrough.
Haaland, who remains under contract with the Black and Yellow until 2024, has already netted 19 goals in 17 appearances for Dortmund this term despite injury concerns.
Such remarkable progress in Germany has invariably put the Norwegian goal machine on the radars of many European football clubs, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid among his suitors.
Real Madrid who are reportedly the favorite to sign Haaland, are viewed as Manchester City’s main rivals for the Norway international.
According to Diario AS, Pep Guardiola has asked Manchester City to make a definitive effort for the Norwegian striker, which has change the scenario as Real Madrid cannot enter into a direct bid with the Club.
The report however claims that Haaland in turn has instructed his agent, Mino Raiola, to reach an agreement with Real Madrid as soon as possible.
In light to the update on Haaland, some Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.
