Plenty of Manchester City fans are desperate for the club to confirm the arrival of River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.
The Premier League leader City are poised to complete the signing of the highly-rated 22-year-old River Plate striker in a £17.9million deal, making him their first signing of this month’s transfer window.
Even if the transfer have not been officially announced, the wait for Julian Alvarez to become a Manchester City player will be over today as per latest reports.
Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano on Sunday reported that Man City and River Plate had signed all paperwork for Julián Álvarez, with the deal set to be announced in the coming hours.
According to Romano today, the official announcement for Julian Alvarez’s move is in place, with Martin Blackburn of the Sun also confirming that he will officially become a Man City player today.
Martin Blackburn also adds that City believe Julián Álvarez could be ready to be part of Pep Guardiola’s squad next season, but are keeping an open mind.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter, City’s supporters are desperate to see the club confirm Alvarez’s arrival, even though he will remain on loan at River Plate until the summer.

That will first happen in July… the announcement is likely to be an edited picture and a brief statement saying he’ll join the club in the summer which is when he will officially be presented
