Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club will resist efforts to allow Liam Delap out on loan for the second half of the season.
The 18-year-old, who joined the Blues from Derby County in 2019, is dubbed as a very exciting prospect and one that has the potential to make a name for himself as a Premier League player in years to come.
However, injury troubles have hampered his progression this season, restricting him to just four appearances; two in the Premier League 2 and two in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Last week, Liam Delap returned to full first-team training with the rest of Pep Guardiola’s squad, after recovering from his latest injury setback.
According to Manchester Evening News’ Simon Bajkowski, Manchester City are to ‘resist’ any potential loan deals for Liam Delap this month, as they look to bring the forward back to full fitness during the second half of the season.
The report claims City’s plan is for Delap to build back fitness in U23 matches as well as training with the first-team squad and the ambition to contribute to the first-team in the second half of the campaign.
In reaction to the news shared by renowned Twitter channel @City_Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
Hopefully gets some game time, his best bet is FAC. Think he’ll go on loan next season to a top end Championship side. https://t.co/j0DGO0IGHa

Bruh let him go he isn’t going to develop here if you’re not going to give him first team football

They should loan him out to get game time and prove himself unless they’re planning on using him for the second half of the season.

Delap is a generational talent. People need to remember that. His record in the PL2 was incredible. City signed him up to a long term contract, they know what he can do! 🙌
