Manchester City‘s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain has provided manager Pep Guardiola with ‘assurances’ regarding the January transfer window.
With the January transfer window on the horizon, All eyes will be on Manchester City to see if they add to their squad, especially a striker.
After splashing out £100million to secure the signature of England international Jack Grealish from Aston Villa during the summer, the club was also keen to add a striker to its first-team.
But despite their long-term interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane they were unable to meet Spurs’ demands and get a deal over the line.
Since the summer window closed, City have been linked with an array of strikers, including Erling Haaland, Dusan Vlahovic as well as Harry Kane.
Signing players midway through the season can be difficult due to the circumstances, but the signing of Aymeric Laporte prove that it can be done.
According to a new report from ESPN journalists Mark Ogden and Rob Dawson, Pep Guardiola has been assured by Director of Football Txiki Begiristain that his Man City squad will not be weakened in the January transfer window.
Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres have attracted attention from Barcelona while Nathan Ake has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

We’re signing someone by the looks of it. Won’t be Haaland he’ll take his time and wait for summer. Please be Vlahovic 🙏🙏🙏🤞
