Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club believe Cole Palmer could become even better than Ferran Torres.
With news of Ferran Torres’ January switch to Barcelona being made official on Tuesday afternoon, It is stated that Etihad officials will not immediately spend the £46.7 million generated through the sale of Torres and instead, use it to fund the signing of a striker next summer.
The Times newspaper reports that Pep Guardiola is said to be ‘convinced’ that a number of youngsters at the club are ‘ready’ to break into the first-team.
Cole Palmer is a product of the Manchester City youth academy and has been on the club’s books for over a decade now.
The Wythenshawe-born attacking midfielder made his first-team debut for the Cityzens in September last year and has chalked up a total of 12 appearances to date, scoring a couple of goals in the process.
As per reliable Manchester City reporter Sam Lee, Man City feel comfortable about letting Ferran Torres leave without a replacement as they have been very happy with Cole Palmer’s progress.
The report claims Pep Guardiola’s side believe the 19-year-old attacker could become even better than Ferran Torres.
The report was shared on Twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
I don't even think that's in doubt….his movement is a lot better and his finishing is very comparable…he's a much better dribbler too

Palmer seems to get himself involved into games more and has a lot of confidence for a young player,he’ll only get better

Look, we all know Palmer is already better than Ferran. Palmer's potential is much much greater than Ferran. Now let's see what lies ahead in the future.

Cole Palmer should be given more game chances to help the team. He is fast and aggressive at his age. He also has good vision. We have to give him chance to prove himself.
