Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club believe Cole Palmer could become even better than Ferran Torres.

With news of Ferran Torres’ January switch to Barcelona being made official on Tuesday afternoon, It is stated that Etihad officials will not immediately spend the £46.7 million generated through the sale of Torres and instead, use it to fund the signing of a striker next summer.

The Times newspaper reports that Pep Guardiola is said to be ‘convinced’ that a number of youngsters at the club are ‘ready’ to break into the first-team.

Cole Palmer is a product of the Manchester City youth academy and has been on the club’s books for over a decade now.

The Wythenshawe-born attacking midfielder made his first-team debut for the Cityzens in September last year and has chalked up a total of 12 appearances to date, scoring a couple of goals in the process.

As per reliable Manchester City reporter Sam Lee, Man City feel comfortable about letting Ferran Torres leave without a replacement as they have been very happy with Cole Palmer’s progress.

The report claims Pep Guardiola’s side believe the 19-year-old attacker could become even better than Ferran Torres.
