Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club want Sergio Aguero to be their global ambassador.
The City legend officially announced his retirement at a emotional press conference on Wednesday, as a heart issue has forced him to end his playing career aged 33.
The striker spent a decade at City before joining Barcelona this summer. A decade which saw him win five Premier League titles, six League Cups and an FA Cup.
Aguero is City’s all-time record goalscorer with 260 strikes, while he sits fourth in the all-time Premier League goalscoring list with 184 goals.
Following Aguero’s emotional retirement announcement, the club confirmed that Sergio Agüero’s statue outside the Etihad Stadium will be unveiled in 2022, standing alongside those of Vincent Kompany and David Silva.
And now a return to City could now be on the cards, with Argentine outlet Ole claiming that Manchester City are planning to offer the legendary Argentine a job as a global ambassador.
The club are said to believe his iconic status would see him able to engage with fans from across the globe, however it remains unclear whether he will accept the job yet.
In addition, Spanish publication Marca claim that there are at least three more offers on the table for Aguero.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
Seriously hope he takes this. Need him connected to the club for as long and as deeply as possibly. Hugely important figure. https://t.co/uoaw6X0yTs

I’d expect nothing less from this club. They take care of their own. I hope he accepts.
