Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Real Madrid are leading the race for Pedro Porro.
The 22-year-old – who is yet to make an appearance for the Citizens since arriving from Girona in 2019 – is currently enjoying the second part of his two-year loan spell with Sporting.
The Primeira Liga champions have the option to sign Porro permanently for a paltry sum of €8.5 million, which they are reportedly were expected to trigger.
Despite several reports claiming there’s already a personal agreement with the player, it seems as though they have hit a stumbling block.
According to newspaper O Jogo today as relayed by Sport witness, Sporting are struggling with money and cannot afford to buy Pedro Porro from Man City now.
The report adds that the young Spanish defender’s good performances for the Lions have been raising his market value and drawing interested clubs, with Real Madrid leading the race.
Porro is under contract at City until 2025, meaning Madrid are unlikely to sign him at a cheaper price anytime soon.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
With Cancelo playing as a left back, we need a backup for Walker. I say why not? https://t.co/iMgotqbw2z
