Liverpool came close to conceding early in their titanic clash with Manchester City in the Premier League after a Bernardo Silva ball carved open the Reds’ backline.
When he’s at his best, Silva is simply a joy to watch and it seems remarkable that there were rumours of City being willing to offload him in the summer.
During City’s priceless 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge last weekend, the former AS Monaco man was the star of the show and Thomas Tuchel’s side just couldn’t live with him.
And against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, Silva once again displayed his famous dribbling skills that had left Chelsea players scratching their heads in disbelief.
Midway through the first half at Anfield, Bernardo Silva picked up the ball near the halfway line and was instantly surrounded by members of the Jurgen Klopp’s team.
What a run from Bernardo. With about four players on him, he twists and turns to keep possession and advance forward.
Then he finds Phil Foden with a lovely ball for a sooting opportunity, but Sadly, the Englishman couldn’t beat Alisson Becker, robbing us of one of the greatest assists in Premier League history..
Looking at the replays, maybe Foden could have hit that first time instead of allowing Alisson to further narrow the angle.
Good save nonetheless. What a goal that would have been , mainly for Bernardo’s brilliance.
