Tottenham director Fabio Paratici claims they kept Harry Kane in the summer because they want him as a part of their rebuild.
City did all they could to land Kane but Tottenham refused to negotiate, and with no suitable alternative they decided to go into the season with Jack Grealish as their only senior addition.
Levy stood firm on his £150million valuation and it might have been too much to ask of City who had spent £100million on Jack Grealish during that time.
With rumours around the England captain’s future showing no sign of going away, Fabio Paratici claims there is no need to have a word with the striker because he knows how to share a sense of belonging at the club.
Speaking to CalcioMercato, the Italian official revealed that Kane remains keen to stay at Spurs despite the rampant rumours over the summer that the striker was eager to leave the north London club.
“Harry Kane loves Tottenham. We’ve decided to keep Harry last summer to start the rebuild, and we’re happy with our choice. There’s no need for any new talks with Harry. He knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs,” the Tottenham director said.
He made this comment as Kane struggles to replicate the form he showed for the club last season.
