Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club want to keep hold of winger Raheem Sterling and ensure that he fights for his place.
The England forward has been with City since 2015, when he moved from Liverpool, and has won three Premier League titles with the club.
However, the 26-year-old has been struggling with his form and fierce competition from attacking stars including Phil Foden and club record signing Jack Grealish.
Speaking at the FT Business of Sport US Summit on Thursday, Sterling admitted that he would be “open” to leaving City if his game time does not increase.
In the same week the England international floated the possibility of leaving Man City amid a lack of game time, Pep Guardiola handed him a start against Burnley.
He was given only his third Premier League start of the season in the 2-0 win against Burnley but it was Bernardo who stole the show with the opening goal before Kevin De Bruyne sealed the points in the second half.
According to 90Min, the defending premier leaque champions have made it clear to Raheem Sterling that they will not stand in his way if he wants to leave the club, but they would rather he stayed and fought for his place.
The report claims that Sterling himself, wants to leave on loan in January and join Barcelona and would be open to making his temporary City exit a permanent one next summer if all went well.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

But in the right place as RW and not as striker… if he stay to fight for his place as striker better for him to leave!

Says a lot about his mentality if he’d rather leave than fight for his place by putting in good performances

After the way he played today let him go, has forgotten how to football in a city system. Frustrating to say the least

It may be the case that his time at City has just run it’s course, if he leaves he would go with my best wishes. Thankful for all that he’s done but he’s not irreplaceable. Get some money out of him to reinvest while he still has value.
