Manchester City fans were impressed with Cole Palmer‘s performance in the 2-0 victory over Kosovo on Tuesday evening.
The Man City academy graduate delivered a superb performance on his England Under-21 debut.
On Tuesday night, Palmer replaced the injured Emile Smith Rowe as England’s U21s faced Kosovo in European qualifying. And he took his chance superbly, scoring an absolutely sensational goal for his nation.
The 19-year-old mildfielder, who is regarded as one of the top players coming through the City academy, took his marker out with a Cruyff turn before bearing down on goal and firing home from a tight angle.
The midfielder was also awarded England’s Player of the Match after that superb performance.
With Palmer already making two appearances for Pep Guardiola’s senior side this season, there’s no doubt that the youngster’s performance for England will put him further on the City boss’ radar in the coming days.
Palmer has been part of City’s academy setup for over a decade and signed a contract extension in June that ties him to the club until 2026.
Man City fans were all over Twitter praising Palmer for his display. Here’s what some of them had to say on Twitter…
