Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has opened up on his strategy, if ever called upon to take a penalty kick for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Brazilian is renowned for his confidence and ability with the ball at his feet and previously claimed he is the “best penalty taker” in the City squad.
The Blues missed four out of 11 spot kicks last season, and six out of 21 the year before. Their conversion rate under Pep Guardiola is just 74 per cent.
In a new interview with CityTV, he’s repeated his claims that he’s ready to take a penalty – even refusing to answer a question over where he’d aim one so he doesn’t give opponents an advantage.
“I don’t know. It depends on the game, what the game brings,” he answered.
“Of course the pressure is higher it it’s 0-0. In a penalty shoot-out as well. But if you’re winning 3-0 and there’s a penalty, the player is much more relaxed.
“But I don’t know how I would take it. But I can’t say anyway. I haven’t taken a single one and I won’t be giving hints for the opponents.
“I hope someday it happens and you will see.”
In reaction to this Ederson’s quote shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
May that day never come 😂💀

Ederson is cool as ice.. he aint gettin psyched out, imagine if it worked out he could become highest scoring keeper in prem history..only risk is the fast brk on a rebound. Id piss if our keeper had a higher season tally than a rivals striker aswell
