Manchester City star Jack Grealish have been tipped by England fans to be the team’s shining light in Qatar next year.
The Three Lions are expected to be among the favourites at the 2022 World Cup having fallen narrowly short at the Euros.
One player that is expected to be at the central to everything for England at the World Cup is Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.
The midfielder, who join Manchester City from Aston Villa this summer, made five appearances at Euro 2020, providing two crucial assists in the process.
According to Mirror, a YouGov survey of more than 1,000 UK football fans for Betfair 18 per cent of England fans think the new Manchester City man will be England’s stand out.
The report adds that 12 per cent think Raheem Sterling will be England’s main man next summer with 10 per cent backing Harry Kane to be the leading light.
Jack Grealish, who has won 12 caps for England since making his debut against Denmark in 2020, believes moving to Manchester City and playing in ‘the biggest games’ will improve his performance for the Three Lions in major tournaments.
“That was a massive reason. To be playing for England in the biggest games, I need to play in the biggest games at club level so that should be the Champions League – all them type of games,” Grealish said When asked how important the move was for his own personal development.
