Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is in talks with Phil Foden over a new contract.
The 21-year-old is considered an elite young talent and is already a key player for Pep Guardiola’s side, playing his part in two of the club’s recent Premier League title victories.
The England star still has three years left on his current deal, but City are said to be eager to hand him improved terms.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now claims that City are hoping to hand him a lucrative new contract.
He said on the Here We Go podcast: “He has a long-term contract, but Manchester City, they want to plan for a new contract for Phil Foden.
“They consider him an untouchable player. Pep Guardiola loves Phil Foden and they’re going to talk to Foden in the coming weeks and months about a new contract. It’s not agreed or advanced yet, but they’re planning to talk about it with Phil Foden.”
The left winger, who can also operate as a central attacking midfielder, started in Tuesday’s 6-1 thrashing of Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
