Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club and Manchester United are expected to undergo a ‘bidding war’ for Erling Haaland next summer.
The Norwegian goal machine is one of the most exciting young talents in world football at the moment and will surely be earning a big move to one of Europe’s super-clubs before too long, and it may be City are in the strongest position to strike a deal.
There are a host of European clubs interested in Haaland, however, with Manchester City among those weighing up whether to activate the €75m release clause in his contract.
City are keen on Haaland following their failure to land Harry Kane from Spurs. It won’t come as a surprise if the Premier League winners decide to make him a priority, either in January or next summer.
According to Sport 1 via Sport Witness, Man City and Man United are expected to enter a ‘bidding war’ for Erling Haaland next summer – available for €75M, potentially rising to around €90M with bonuses.
The report claims Mino Raiola has set wage demands at €50M gross/€24M net, plus €40M in agent fees.
The report adds that Haaland himself ‘seems to be leaning’ towards England and the Premier League rather than France.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
Then we’ve already lost, we give up to easily

Absolutely no chance we’re getting him.

We are not entering a bidding war, our club has no spine

I beg we don’t pay him €50m in wages. I’d rather miss out on him than ruin our long term wage structure

Sickening fees

What an obscene wage

So raiola wants Haaland to earn £960k per week. That’s ridiculous ffs

If we’re entering a bidding war with United, rest assured we’re gonna lose. There’s no way our board even contemplates paying THAT high a fees.
