Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have been offered Barcelona forward Ansu Fati by the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

The 18-year-old is a highly-rated player at Barcelona, having just been given Lionel Messi’s No.10 shirt, is considered to be one of the most promising young players in world football.

Since making his debut for the first team in 2019, Fati has scored 11 goals in 31 games and has made 4 appearances for the Spanish national side.

Several clubs including Manchester City have been linked with the youngster’s signature, however talks over a new deal have been ongoing and it’s believed he’ll soon sign an extension.

United themselves have been long-term admirers of the £54m-rated star. Reports last summer indicated they had tried and failed to sign him for a €150m fee.

According to Catalan outlet El Nacional as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City have been ‘offered’ the opportunity to sign Fati, however, Pep Guardiola is unwilling to sign the youngster.

The Spanish publication report that the 18-year-old’s high-profile agent is pressuring the club to renew Fati’s contract, amid disagreement between the parties regarding when the deal ends.

The report claims Pep Guardiola has asked Txiki Begiristain ‘not to enter the game started by Mendes’ for after Ansu Fati, so that he doesn’t end up harming Barcelona.

Manchester City are overstocked with forwards –Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres – so it’s hard to see them bringing in another when the transfer window opens.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
