Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is yet to make a decision on the future of young striker Liam Delap this season.

There’s a lot of uncertainty over Liam Delap’s future at Manchester City this summer. The highly rated youngster and has proven himself at youth level, so decisions need to be made on how best to develop him this season.

There has been plenty of speculation that the 18-year-old striker could go out on loan this season in order to gain some vital experience, with Stoke one of a long list of Championship clubs interested in securing the talents of the highly-rated striker this month.

According to the Telegraph’s John Percy, while talks are ongoing between Stoke and Manchester City, they are said to be ‘less than 50/50’ at this stage.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been sharing their thoughts and opinions.

Stoke City however still remain hopeful and patient over a potential loan deal to sign Delap but are beginning to wonder whether City are starting to think about keeping him for this season coming.

Stoke City boss Michael O’Neill confirmed the Potters’ interest to sign the youngster on loan, but do not know whether he will even be available.

O’Neill also dismissed the suggestion that Stoke have an advantage due to Liam’s father Rory being on their coaching staff, as he insisted City hold all the cards.

O’Neill said: “We obviously know about Liam’s situation with Rory being part of our coaching staff but what people have to remember is that it won’t be our decision, it will be his parent club’s decision and what they feel will be the right pathway for Liam.

“To think that we’re in any way advantaged because Rory is at the club won’t be the case. They will have a pathway for Liam which might mean they decide to keep him as part of their squad at this minute in time.

“If the opportunity came for us to try to do something of course we’d be interested in trying to do that, as we would be with a number of other young players at the top end of the game at Liverpool, Arsenal… all of these clubs.

“Not all of these young players are going to come and do exceptionally well in their first loan but certainly in this case we would be interested if the opportunity arose.”
