Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club have insisted that Nuno Mendes is not, and never has been, a target for them.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium for several months now, and is viewed by many within football to be the next big defensive superstar with his meteoric rise showing no signs of slowing.
The Sporting youth academy product was a breakout star in Primeira Liga last term. He became an ever-present figure for a team that broke Benfica and FC Porto’s dominance in Portuguese football by winning the league title whilst remaining unbeaten in the process.
Mendes’s form saw him rewarded with a place in Portugal’s squad for Euro 2020, and his performances had supposedly caught the eye of Pep Guardiola’s side and other European giants.
The premier league champions are reportedly looking for a new left-back with the club open to selling Benjamin Mendy, who has not lived up to his £52million price-tag since arriving at City three years ago.
According to Jack Gaughan of the Mail, Martin Blackburn of the Sun, and Simon Stone of BBC Sport, Manchester City have stated that they have no intention of signing Nuno Mendes this summer, and never have held an interest.
It comes less than 48 hours after reports from Record in Portugal claimed that the Cityzens had seen a €25 million bid rejected, and had some level of intention of submitting a fresh offer between €30 million and €35 million.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

The thing is we have 2 solid options In each position.. At left back we have Zinchenko, a right footed Cancelo and unfortunatly crocked Mendy.. Unless Mendy goes though I can't see this happning
