Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is in the frame, alongside Chelsea, to sign Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku
City and Chelsea are prioritizing a No.9 this summer and both also hold an interest in Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, though both situations are more complicated than that of Lukaku.
The Cityzens are said to consider a move for the Belgium international their most realistic chance of signing a world-class attacker this summer as they know Tottenham are unlikely to deal with them over Kane and Borussia Dortmund are asking Haaland to give them one more season.
According to Eurosport, Manchester City are in the frame, alongside Chelsea, to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer and early indications around the player’s camp suggest the premier leaque champions are offering higher wages.
The report claims Lukaku would be willing to come back to the premier leaque despite Inter Milan having no interest in selling the Belgium international this summer.
The €100m-rated striker is loving his life in Serie A but the club have financial issues and he needs to be assured of the club’s direction if he is to stick around, the report adds.
The former Chelsea and Manchester united striker scored 24 goals and set up 11 more in 36 Serie A appearances in 2020-21 to help fire the Nerazzurri to their first Scudetto triumph in 11 years.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
Wouldn’t say no… top striker and links up perfectly with KDB!

People don’t understand how dangerous a KDB and Lukaku link-up is. Plus extra bragging rights when he wins more trophies with us than he did at united

No way our fanbase is going to switch from Kane to Lukaku

Are we just signing anyone that can kick a ball now? I thought Kane was our priority
