Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the club is in ‘pole position’ to sign Sergio Ramos.
The 35-year-old, who has been with Madrid since 2005, will depart at the end of his contract on June 30. The LaLiga club announced on Wednesday evening that they will host a farewell to the defender on Thursday, followed by a press conference.
And the battle to sign the defender has already begun. In fact it’s been going on behind the scenes for “a long time”.
According to AS, the 35-year-old centre-back’s representatives have been in contact with the Premier League champions for some time, and they should be able to handle the Spaniard’s reported €12 million (A$19 million) annual salary demands.
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running for the signature of the Madrid icon, but the report insist that “the team that has taken the most strength in recent weeks has been Manchester City”.
The report claims Pep Guardiola fancies the idea of the experienced Ramos coming on board alongside John Stones, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter City Chief, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Sell Laporte ASAP. Ramos is old but is 10000% better.

If laporte or ake leaves that will be a good signing, he’s amazing despite his age and will teach players like Dias, Stones and Bellis alot
