Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club will deny Pep Guardiola his chance to sign Fabian Ruiz this summer as the club’s owners refuse to do business with Napoli.
The Spaniard, who has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, is a versatile midfielder renowned for his close control and accurate passing, making him a perfect fit for a Guardiola side.
Failing to qualify for the Champions League last season made Napoli’s situation increasingly challenging without the funds the competition provides.
They are reportedly working to raise €100m (£86m) in the summer transfer window to balance the books in Naples by either lowering their bloated wage bill or by reducing the number of players at the club.
Guardiola would like to seize on Napoli’s situation to sign the 25-year-old mildfielder as the Man City boss admires what he offers.
But According to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester City will not open talks with Napoli for Fabian Ruiz, after the relationship between the two clubs collapsed due to Jorginho’s failed transfer three years ago.
The Rome-based paper claims Fabian Ruiz will only leave the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium if Gli Azzurri receive at least €60m (£51.5m).
PSG and Atletico Madrid are also interested in securing his services, but it remains to be seen if they match Napoli’s demands.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

If they are making stories of everyone we like but have no interest in bidding for, that paper is gonna weigh a ton.
