Plenty of Sky Blues weren’t impressed with the performance of Raheem Sterling in the 4-3 win on Friday against Newcastle United in the premier league.
Manchester City took home all three points at the end of a seven-goal thriller at St. James’ Park in a game filled with twists and surprises for both sides, a victory which set a new English record of 12 successive away victories in the Premier league.
Although City produced some superb attacking play at St James’ Park, one man who was barely involved and struggled throughout the game was Raheem Sterling.
City had a lot of fun in attack but Sterling was involved in almost none of it. He was lively in the first half without necessarily threatening too much.
The 26-year-old came on to the pitch with amazing intensity, coordinating well with Joao Cancelo but failed to keep up with others around him and completely drifted out of the game at times.
As per SofaScore, the England international earn a disappointing 6.3/10 rating for his performance, which was the worst of any City player to feature in the game.
This was another opportunity missed by Sterling to nail down a place for Porto, unfortunately and must be fearing for his spot at the Euros.
In reaction to Sterling’s display, plenty of Sky Blues took to twitter to express their disappointment, with some fans claiming they ‘can’t see him playing in the Euros, never mind the Champions League Final’.

This win will blind many from this Raheem Sterling horror show. Steps need to be taken, he was the first person that should’ve been on the scoresheet in this game. He’s captain as well. Wow.

Raheem Sterling is really struggling at the moment, can’t see him playing in the Euros, never mind the Champions League Final! 👍

On current form Raheem Sterling should be nowhere near the England squad for the European Championships. #ThreeLions #Euro2021

Raheem Sterling looks completely shot of confidence. What’s happened to him recently, Pep seems to have lost trust in him!
