Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the club is interested in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva as an option if they are unable to sign their top transfer targets this summer.
The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for his German club during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 22 times and registering seven assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.
The Portuguese striker is one of the names on City’s short list, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez, and Southampton’s Danny Ings, as they seek to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero this summer.
His performance this season has been attracting the attention of a host of European clubs with reports in February claiming City are among four clubs that have Andre Silva on their radar.
According to Dominic King of the Daily Mail, City are signing a new striker this summer and remain keen on Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but have other options, including Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva and Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan.
Silva’s current deal with Frankfurt is due to run until June 2023, with Sky Sports Germany last month claiming the Portugal international could command a relatively reasonable price tag in the region of £25.6m.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

No one knows what they're talking about. Half you fans were crying about Ruben, now he's pretty much our best player

Ffs Haaland or Kane has to be our only options to replace Aguero. Dont want these random striker replacing our best ever player its embarrassing

Haaland would be amazing. I think we all want him. But, if he/his agent insist on wages making him too earner at the club etc, we have to say no. Can't destabilise what we have. Hope he's humble and will settle for merely astronomically good wages!
