Manchester City have announced the signing of 17-year-old Brazilian forward Kayky from Fluminense.
Kayky is one of the talented Brazilian wonderkids in the South American country, and several reports had claimed the 17-year-old is on the verge of completing a transfer to City for 2022.
Manchester City have now confirmed an agreement on social media, with a statement reading: “We are delighted to confirm we have reached an agreement with Fluminese regarding the future transfer of Kayky. The teenage forward will remain with Fluminese until the end of the Brazilian season.”
The winger, who plays off each flank, is expected to feature in City’s Under-23 squad to gain experience and his transfer fee, reported to be €10 million plus add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause for Fluminense.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano 10 days ago claims a fee of £8.5million will be paid to Brazilian side Fluminense – plus add-ons, which could see the figure rise to £14.75million.
The deal for Kayky is just the latest of several City recruits from South America, following the likes of Yan Couto, Kluiverth Aguilar, and Diego Rosa in making the switch to Manchester or the City Football Group.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, Many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
