Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Raheem Sterling has put talks over a new £320k-a-week contract on hold until the end of the season.
The England man, who signed for City from Liverpool in 2015, has two years left on his contract with Man City, so there doesn’t seem a huge rush to get a new deal sorted for him straight away.
According to the Sun, Sterling will have to wait before putting the finishing touches to a new £320K-a-week deal with Man City, after holding initial discussions as he is yet to link up with a new representative following split with agent earlier this year.
The report adds that although his contract situation has taken a back seat, there is no suggestion of a move away, with the Cityzens keen to tie the €110m-rated winger down to another long-term deal to ensure his peak years are at the club.
Sterling has been a huge success at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 113 goals in 281 games, but has struggled to command a regular first-team place with Pep Guardiola’s Quadruple-chasers in recent months.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have have expressing their thoughts and opinions.
£320k for Sterling is excessive!

Is this kid mad? How just how can we even consider giving him that kind of money. When he is a let down so many times. No.

320k a week! Surely means the likes of… Eddy, Cancelo, Dias and Jesus should be on way more

Doesn't deserve that much money imo

Stones did nothing last season should’ve sold him this season then yeah? Also sterling delivered for the last couple of seasons. Easily our second best player last season. And is still world class just not as good as last season

Finish the season on a high note and he’ll get that contract no doubt 🙌🏾
