Pep Guardiola has confirmed during a press conference on the weekend that he believes Eric Garcia will be joining FC Barcelona at the end of the season.
The highly-rated 20-year-old centre-back, whose contract at the Etihad runs out in the summer, has his heart set on returning to Barcelona and has even reportedly agreed personal terms with the club.
The €20m-Rated star has played only nine times for Manchester City this season, including only three appearances in the Premier League.
Asked about the centre-back’s situation, Guardiola said: “Eric Garcia is like a son. He was a guy last season that after lockdown was our best central defender. He never made a mistake and played in the quarter-final of the Champions League.
“He’s going to play in Barcelona and that is not an average player – he is a top player. He was not selected in the last two games and it broke my heart.
“That is why it is difficult for all the managers when you have a squad. You cannot imagine what it means.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, Eric Garcia will sign his contract with Barcelona until June 2026 and that no other clubs were involved in the race, despite the reported interest from Arsenal and PSG.
In reaction to the news shared on Twitter by City Xtra, Man Sky Blues have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

To be fair if we’re being completely unbiased Garcia has hardly put a foot wrong, he just isn’t the quickest and we’re being a bit biased because he wants to go a lot of the time
