‘Needs to get his own house in order’ – Man City fans blasts La Liga president for comments on CAS appeal verdict

A lot of Sky Blues have slammed La Liga president Javier Tebas for his recent comments on Manchester City’s Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) appeal verdict.

The La Liga chief has rekindled the feud between himself and Manchester City and Ligue 1 giants PSG, after UEFA unsuccessfully attempted to ban especially the premier league leader from the Champions League following an alleged breach of Financial Fair Play rules.

A decision that had spark a fierce debate over the current state of FFP regulations. Tebas, wants the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) investigated for the way it has handled Financial Fair Play (FFP) appeals.

‘Both of those clubs have been punished, more or less,’ Tebas said as quotes by the Daily Mail

‘In City’s case, it was a significant ban and it was CAS that lifted the ban. So, I don’t know if my concern is UEFA or CAS.

‘There’s lots of messing about with CAS, there are things going on when decisions are made that have to be investigated. And the Spanish league will investigate.

‘UEFA made an effort, it goes to CAS and then [nothing happens]. The clubs, and institutions are doing their bit and measures are taken but then in they come and lift the ban. CAS needs to be reviewed and investigated to see what they’re actually doing.’

As relayed by the Athletic’s Matt Slater, Tebas also claims that unlike other clubs, City and PSG are able to keep “buying the best players because they’re financed by the oil industry and their special, not strictly legal funding methods.”

In reaction to Tebas’s comments shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been sharing their thoughts and opinions with many insisting he “got an obsession” with the Cub.
