Many Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relayed a report that claims some of Europe’s big clubs have “been alerted” to the potential availability of Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez this summer.
The former Leicester City man is under contract at the Etihad until 2023, and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, with Real Madrid and PSG reportedly interested in signing the winger.
According to the Telegraph, European clubs have “been alerted” to the potential availability of the Algerian this summer, as there has been no agreement between him and the Etihad hierarchy to extend his deal.
While Guardiola is supposedly keen to keep him on the books, Prising Mahrez away from City will be difficult, especially as the 30-year-old star has worked his way into a starting role in big games for Manchester City.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions, with with Many appearing to be delighted at the prospect of the club selling the Algerian at the end of the season

I see many so called fans here want Mahrez to leave, but without him this season, City couldn’t have been in the place it is now in the PL. Mahrez is one of the most talented players in the world.
