Manchester City captain Kyle Walker is rumored to be considering a move away from the club in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 33-year-old defender had previously almost left the club last summer, with interest from Bayern Munich. However, he ultimately signed a contract extension after discussions with manager Pep Guardiola.
Despite staying at Manchester City, Walker’s performances this season have not met expectations, leading to speculations about his future. The Sun reported that Walker is now looking at a potential move to Saudi Arabia, seeking advice from former teammate Riyad Mahrez. Walker is said to be happy at Manchester City but is exploring all options for his future, considering the difference in lifestyle and less public scrutiny in Saudi Arabia.
If Walker were to leave Manchester City, it could leave a gap in the squad as Rico Lewis is currently the only other right-back option. Pep Guardiola may have to consider other alternatives such as fielding central defenders or assessing Brazilian youngster Yan Couto during pre-season. Walker’s potential move to Saudi Arabia could bring a new chapter in his career and personal life, as he considers different opportunities outside of European football.
