‘Way too much’, ‘it will ruin our transfer policy’ – Man City fans reacts as Dortmund place an eye-watering price tag on in-demand Erling Haaland

Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a reports that claims Borussia Dortmund have slapped slapped an eye-watering price tag on superstar striker Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian striker, who has been heavily linked with a move to Etihad, is one of Europe’s hottest properties, and has been linked with moves to most of the ‘big six’ clubs.

Haaland has proved so far in 2020/21 that he is no one-season wonder by scoring 33 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.

Manchester City are one of the major clubs interested in signing him this summer, as reiterated again in this latest report from ESPN.

However, the Cityzens and any other interested club, will have to stump up a whopping €180 million, as Dortmund set their price for him, per the report.

Haaland has a release clause of €75m in his contract with Dortmund, but that only comes into play in the summer of 2022.

Haaland and Mbappe are the only two players I don’t mind us paying above £120 mil. They will definitely not get €180. But 130 is possible. We just need an A rated signing. It pisses me off that we don’t take the likes of PSG or Madrid on such transfers.

Exactly! I’d rather pay £30m for someone like insigne, then sign Haaland the next season & save £120m & we can sell insigne for £20m the season after.
If we over pay once, it will ruin our transfer policy!

Yes but 10-12 years scoring >30 goals per season. One of the best striker in the planet and he is only 20 years old. Mbappé🇫🇷, most probably to Real Madrid for +/- same price. New Ronaldo🇵🇹 & Messi🇦🇷 generation, this is the price. If you need to expend +€100m, this is the guy

Similar tactic employed last summer with Sancho. Surely this isn’t a surprise to anyone?! If they fail to qualify for UCL I think that price will come down, but not by too much. Otherwise all potential suitors will wait until next summer.

Great idea Dortmund 😂 Hold out for €180m this transfer window and lose him next summer for €68m instead 😂 They’re are trying to act smart, but they know that the release clause in Haaland’s contract have left them in a dreadful position compared to that of Sancho
