Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Riyad Mahrez is ‘not happy‘ at the club due to a lack of game time.
The City winger has had to make do with starting just over half of the Premier League games this year, totaling 25 appearances in all competitions.
According to DZ Foot as relayed by Sport Witness, Algeria head coach Djamel Belmadi said during an interview with Algerian television that Mahrez isn’t best pleased with his situation at the Etihad.
“Mahrez isn’t happy in Manchester because he doesn’t play often, and he’s a fighter who wants to play all the games for his team. I can’t ask him to leave his club to play more in another, I’m not his agent, but the most important is for him to keep his fitness and to be ready for the next games of the national team,” hee said.
“He’s our captain. I understand the fear of the fans, but, in my view, he’s got the ability to bounce back once again. I trust him”.
But Riyad Mahrez has clarified directly to City Xtra that there has been a mistake during a translated interview from Algeria manager. There was an error and misunderstanding when translating the original interview, which was spoken in Arabic.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
this agenda against him is ridiculous.. definitely not at his best and a bit frustrating at times but has a loads of potential and should come back stronger!!

Not saying I don't believe him, but this has happened twice already this season… someone is playing games. Might just be the Algerian media stirring, but if I was Riyad I'd be asking my people questions. Almost seems like they're trying to force a move against the player's will

of course, he is unhappy.. everybody knows it.. even Pep knows it ..

PG is the kind of man that likes showing that he is the boss , and the one who wants to show that he is not happy with his decisions or choices , he breaks him easily.
Love Mahrez, absolute shambolic that these so called supporters scape goat him. Just like how everyone used to use Gundo as a scape goat now they are all trying to suck him off.

Mahrez is a quality player, WC tbp but he needs to be more consistent. Sometimes his decision making in the final third is not accurate. He should know when to pass and when to shoot.if a player is in a better position to shoot then he should pass it instead of trying on his own

Whatever he says we know he's not happy about his playing minutes

Simple fix to that. Play better.
