‘Really worth it’ – Fans reacts to Manchester City’s interest in Patrick de Paula

Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report of the club’s interest in Palmeiras midfielder Patrick de Paula.

The 21-year-old moved through the ranks, usually playing in the age category above his own, and caught the eye of Rio club Botafogo. He later ended up at Palmeiras, where he made his debut in January 2020.

He is one of the potent young guard at the Sao Paulo club, playing alongside Gabriel Veron, who has also been linked with a move to the Etihad.

Patrick de Paula, who is protected by a €100M release clause has been drawing the interest from European sides since the start of 2020,  with Pep Guardiola’s side and Benfica reportedly keeping an eye on Palmeiras midfielder.

According to UOL via Sport_Witness, a Man City scout was in attendance at the Copa Libertadores final to monitor the Palmeiras midfielder

However, there was not a lot for City scout to see as the player was left on the bench and only brought on after 78 minutes.

In reaction to the report shared on twitter by Man City Xtra, plenty of Sky Blues have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
