Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on twitter, which relayed a report that claims the club wants Sergio Aguero to prove he is not suffering any long-term problems before starting talks about a new deal.
With the City’s all-time record goalscorer’s current deal at the Etihad due to expire next June, his future has been the subject of speculation recently, with Inter Milan and Barcelona reportedly interested in signing the striker.
The Argentine is the third-highest earner in the City squad, behind Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne earning £230,135 a week.
According to the Mirror, City wants to see that Aguero has no long-term issues for them to be concerned about before opening talks at the end of the season.
The Argentine has played just 203 minutes in the Premier League this season, with zero goals or assists to show for these outings.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Sky Blues have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Seems perfectly fair to me. Due to injury he has not scored in the league for 13 months. He doesn’t have to prove his legendary status, but he does need to prove fitness.

Think it might be time for him to gracefully hang his boots like a legend like how Kompany and Silva did. They knew their time had come and put the interest of the club before theirs. Both could have asked for extensions and another pay day.

No ones deserves a “free ride” but Sergio and Dinho getting extra 12months would be brilliant, assuming health is ok rest of season. Both bow squad players but both legends and top pros
