Manchester City fans were impressed with Rodrigo Hernández’s performance in the 1-0 victory over struggling Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday evening.
Foden’s clinical finish just before half-time on a sodden night at the Etihad Stadium proved enough for City to claim a fourth successive league win, but it was far from comfortable.
City held that lead until stoppage time, when the Citizens were given a chance to seal the game from the spot after Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez brought down Kevin De Bruyne in the box. But Sterling – on as a late substitute – blazed the stoppage time spot-kick over the bar.
It might not have been very impressive for the blues but the Foden-inspired 1-0 victory over Brighton moved City into the Premier League’s top three for the first time this season.
Another standout performer on the night was defensive midfielder Rodri, whose performance elicited attention from Man City fans.
The Spain international, who is valued at £57.6 million by Transfermarkt has been criticised massively by fans at times this season.
Many City fans after the match took to Twitter to hail Rodri’s ‘unbelievable’ and ‘immense’ performance against Brighton.
Here’s how some of the Man City faithful fans reacted to his performance:
