Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims John Stones is set to be rewarded with a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium, following his impressive return to the first-team squad.
Stones has been inconsistent since his £50 million move from Everton in the summer of 2016 and was limited to just 24 appearances last season.
The England international was put up for sale in 2018 and wa after falling down the pecking order to Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte, but he ended up staying and is finally turning things around.
Stones was on the periphery at the start of this campaign, making just one Premier League appearance in September and October, but he’s now a regular and has found some consistency. He has featured 10 times so far this season, and Guardiola believes the 26-year-old deserves plenty of praise.
According to Telegraph, John Stones is set to land a contract extension at Manchester City after ‘winning around’ Pep Guardiola this season.

Richly deserved. Just shows what a bit of hard work can do no matter how against you the world seems to be

I get your point but, at that time, he’d only have a year left which would put us in danger of losing him on a free.

He has 18 months left.
