Some Liverpool supporters have joked that Kevin De Bruyne’s past allegiances to the Reds made him miss a penalty against them over the weekend.
City and Liverpool played out a hard-fought draw in the English Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool took the lead in the 13th minute through Salah’s penalty, only for Gabriel Jesus to equalize shortly after the half-hour.
City had a golden opportunity to go in front shortly before half-time, when Joe Gomez was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area.
De Bruyne stepped up and fired his effort wide of the target.
After the match, an old video of De Bruyne as a young child admitting he was a Liverpool fan and that his favourite player is Michael Owen resurfaced.

You gotta respect him. He put it wide to show he’s against the new atrocious handball rule.

Why can’t he just join our club it’s not like he is terrible at all. He is a brilliant player. And thanks for losing that penalty.
