Pep Guardiola admitted he was unsure about the timetable for Sergio Aguero’s return to Manchester City’s team.
The Argentina striker underwent surgery in the summer and his return to action has already been complicated by a hamstring injury.
After coming on as a late substitute in City’s 1-0 win at Olympiakos in the Champions League on Wednesday, the Sky Blues hitman Sergio Aguero played no part versus Burnley, after being completely omitted from Pep Guardiola’s matchday squad.
Speaking after the game, Pep Guardiola told the Daily Mail about the injury problems the striker has been facing.
“Sergio depends how he wakes up. He makes good training sessions and then has some niggles,” he said.
“He woke up with a little problem in his knee. We know the injury he had is not easy for the recovery. We have to handle it as best as possible.”
The City bos is quoted by the Mirror revealing his belief that Aguero’s injury is nothing too serious:
“He had a little bit of pain in the knee. These things can happen when you come back from the kind of injury Sergio had. We will see but we don’t think that it is a big problem.”
Along with Aguero, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko Nathan were also rested for the match owing to squad rotation, while Nathan Ake is not quite 100% fit following his return to training after a hamstring injury.

This guy came back from Injury, got injured again, recovered and came back, and is now injured again, I’m sorry but I think it’s probably for the best that he moves on at the end of the year, this isn’t sustainable

I m 100% sure he’s not injured. It’s a sad moment for his family, he just needed a small break
