Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the Citizens are targeting a January move for Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico.
The Argentinian was on the target list at a number of Premier League clubs this summer, including Chelsea and Leicester.
Tagliafico was looked at but any move for the £23 million rated Argentine was dependent on Aleks Zinchenko departing the Etihad, which didn’t happen.
According to The Sun , Guardiola has not given up in his pursuit of the Argentina international and will return for him in January.
With less than two years left on his contract in Amsterdam, Ajax could accept a bid as low as £20m from City for Tagliafico, who is expected to replace Benjamin Mendy in Pep’s starting XI.
Left-back has been a troublesome position for Pep Guardiola for some time, with Benjamin Mendy continuing to struggle for form following his lengthy injury lay-offs and he struggled at Leeds United in the Premier League.
Zinchenko is yet to make an appearance this season due to injury but is clearly viewed as expendable by the club. Ake and Joao Cancelo can also cover in the position.

Wouldn’t be a bad move there. We really don’t have a dependable left back at the moment. With mendy struggling to cope up and Zinchenko injured oftenly, Nathan Ake could drop in left back momentarilly to help out assuming Laporte and Dias are fit and available!!

Just go for a longer term solution. We’ve got the money. Why would we buy a 28 year old that might not be performing to the highest level in 3 years time
