Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports to yet another update on the Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly’s potential move to the Etihad.
It’s no secret the 29-year-old, who is considered one of the world’s best centre-backs is top of City’s wanted list in the centre-back department.
The Citizens recently completed the signing of Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake but are believed to still be interested in Koulibaly to finally bring in the leadership skills City lost when Vincent Kompany left the club.
The Citizens have been negotiating with Napoli for several weeks over their asking price, with Aurelio de Laurentiis looking to make at least €90m after turning down €100m last summer.
According to transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla as relay by Daily Mail, City ‘will step up their interest in Napoli defender Kalidou Kouliably when their Champions League campaign is over’ after a bid of around £58million was rejected by the Italian side.
Pedulla claims that Guardiola will be able to get his man if he raises his offer to £72million, which City could do when their season comes to an end this month.
And according to French outlet Foot Mercato via Insidefutbol, the centre-back has now agreed on a salary package with the Premier League runners-up despite a first transfer fee offer being rejected by Napoli.
The report claims Kalidou Koulibaly has spoken to Pep Guardiola over the phone, something which has turned his head definitively towards the Etihad Stadium.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City xtra and City Chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
