‘He’s way better’ – Man City fans name ideal Angelino replacement as Barcelona show interest in left-back

Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Barcelona have enquired about the possibility of signing left-back Angelino.

The Citzens took advantage of a buy-back clause to re-sign Angelino, just a year after the Spaniard departed the club for PSV Eindhoven.

Angelino made just 12 appearances, though not playing particularly well in them, before he was shipped out once again in January which turned out to be his best move so far.

The 23-year-old full-back on loan at RB Leipzig helped the club reach their first ever Champions League semi-final. After an impressive spell at Bundesliga, his stock may have risen substantially and has now attracted interest from Barcelona.

According to The Mail’s Jack Gaughan, New Blaugrana manager Ronald Koeman has identified the Spaniard as one of his transfer targets as he looks to turn the club’s fortunes around and they have made their interest known to City.

City are holding out for €30million for his signature with Leipzig keen to bring him back permanently but it is unclear whether he will return to the German club amid Barcelona’s interest.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions with many fans suggesting they should sell 23-year-old full-back and get Sergio Reguilon from Sevilla.
