Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Manchester City are considering making an offer for Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar


Manchester City are well-known to be on the hunt for at least one centre-back to bolster the club’s options ahead of next season, after the problems encountered in the wake of Vincent Kompany’s retirement last summer.


Pep Guardiola is ready to raid the transfer market in a bid to put Manchester City back on top of the Premier League with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly being the top choice, although he would cost around €100 million.

According to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today, Manchester City are considering making an offer for Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar (25).


Additionally, the report says that it would require around €60 million in order to prise the defender away from Inter Milan and an offer will only arrive should City win their appeal against their Champions League ban.


If the ban were to be upheld, Skriniar proves to be a more viable alternative to Koulibaly given his younger age and the fact he could move to the Etihad for a cheaper fee.

Skriniar have been an ever present and Inter Milan’s most reliable defender since he arrived at the San Siro, His potential move to Manchester City would see an upgrade to the team’s defense.

He has been described as “a strong tackler who is quick to make clearances”. Defending comes to him naturally, so Škriniar can also be deployed slightly upwards as a CDM – where he used to be outstanding during his time for under-21s.
