Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Eric Garcia has already agreed to leave and return to Barcelona.

Barcelona are looking to former La Masia prodigy Eric García as a long-term replacement for Gerard Piqué having sold the youngster to Manchester City in 2017.

According to Catalan newspaper Sport via Barca Universal, The La Masia graduate Eric Garcia has personally agreed to join FC Barcelona, the club which helped develop him as a youngster.

The report claims that Manchester City has already signed a replacement, namely Nathan Aké from Bournemouth. According to Daily Mail today, Bournemouth accepted a £41million offer from Manchester City for the central defender.

Aké is left-footed, so there is a suspicion he is being brought in purely to be Aymeric Laporte’s backup. García is right-footed, so perhaps there is no connection between the two players’ cases.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

“last few days there’s been rumours that he’s signing new contract and that he is also leaving so cant beleive this until something actually happens”, claimed one fan.

while another asked, “Seriously ? It’s konwn to all that FCB is becoming weaker and weaker. Now all of the team is supported only by Messi ,if Messi leaves, FCB will break up. He is so young, and he can in the taught of Pep, Why he wants to leave there? it’s unreasonable.”

while another tweeted, “People need to stop worrying, why would Garcia leave the best manager in the world and guaranteed game time next year to play for a sinking barcelona with messi about to leave”

Another tweet said: “People can shout rumours but it has been a while now, you would think he’d just sign the contract if he had no doubts. I personally think he’s either waiting to see which CB’s we sign or just hoping we buckle and improve the contract. If he wanted to leave, we would know it.”

Does Manchester City buying Nathan Aké push Eric García closer to Barcelona?
