Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the Citizens have been handed a ‘huge’ boost ahead of rivals Manchester United in the race to sign Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish
The Villa player has had a fine season in the Premier League, but could be on his way out at the end of the campaign with United in hot pursuit of the midfielder.
With the upcoming departure of club legend David Silva, City may well be in the market for a creative replacement in midfield.
According to the Express, Manchester City Champions League ban overturned comes as a ‘huge’ boost in their pursuit of Grealish and other targets.
The Express claim Guardiola would ‘definitely like’ to sign Grealish in the coming weeks and sees him as the ‘perfect replacement’ for David Silva, who is due to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the midfielder, having consistently heaped praise on Grealish throughout the season. The 24-year-old has seven goals and six assists in 33 top-flight appearances
