Manchester City will undoubtedly enter the transfer market to bolster their squad this summer which have been well off the pace set by Liverpool this season.
Pep Guardiola is expected to be active in this summer’s transfer window as they look to wrestle the Premier League title back from Liverpool during the 2020-21 campaign.
City’s need for a centre-half is a priority but Pep Guardiola may want more quality options in the midfield department, a potential replacement for David Silva who will leave at the end of the season.
According to recent reports, Guardiola is said to be extremely keen on bringing AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer to Manchester City this summer.
The 22-year-old Algerian has impressed for the Italian giants in Serie A this season, making 21 starts in his first year at the San Siro.
The reports by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sempre Milan) state that Guardiola has ‘fallen in love’ with the 22-year-old, with €50 million (£45.1 million) appearing to be the benchmark for the price of the Algerian, a figure that it is said Guardiola could spend.
Le10 Sport report on Tuesday claim Riyad Mahrez is ‘doing his best to convince his compatriot to come’.
Bennacer joined AC Milan from Empoli last summer for €16million on a five-year deal, which is reported to have a €50million release clause.
Bennacer once played for Arsenal between 2015 and 2017 – but made just one appearance in the League Cup before being loaned to Tours in the French Ligue 2 and later joined Empoli.
Man City fans, do you think there is a realistic chance of Bennacer coming to the Etihad this summer?
