Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the Pep Guardiola is eyeing up a double swoop for La Liga duo José Maria Giménez and Diego Carlos as they look to improve their defence this summer
City’s need for a centre-half is a priority this summer, after the problems encountered in the wake of Vincent Kompany’s retirement this summer.
Manchester City have been heavily linked with a move for many defenders like Upamecano, Milan Skriniar and Kalidou Koulibaly in recent weeks, as Pep Guardiola looks to sign a new centre-back at the end of the season.
The latest names to add to the list are José Giménez (25) from Atlético Madrid and Diego Carlos (27) from Sevilla, According to El Desmarque.
According to Duncan Castles via TransferPodcast, City have ‘made contact’ with Atletico Madrid to enquire about a potential transfer fee for José Giménez (25) this summer. The La Liga club ‘did not respond well’, and suggested a fee over €100 million.

To be honest Giménez 🇺🇾 is a great defense and you can see how he plays at At. Madrid. Better than Škriniar 🇸🇰 and Koulibaly 🇸🇳 with same price more or less. The best option for this price or Upamecano 🇫🇷 even cheapper. Let see because every days is a new name there 😂 😂 😂 😂— J@vi (@jdiazm11) July 17, 2020
